Maysa had the amazing chance to visit the European Parliament with a group of other women. This was a great opportunity for her to see the heart of Europe and to share our project with people from all over Europe!
A couple of months ago, the TV program 'Outras Histórias' from RTP came to our 'Bairro' to know the project. In this 8 minutes video of interviews and images, you can get a sense of how our work, story, and progress are going. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it!
In January, we went on a small road trip to Reguengos de Monsaraz to visit Herdade do Esporão!
It was an amazing afternoon out in the countryside, very revigorating. We got to visit the facilities where they produce their amazing olive oil. We were impressed with the process of creating olive oil, it is very nice, you can check it out in their youtube channel.
P.S: Duarte was in is paradise, checking and looking into each machine and the whole process!
Alike last year, we have got ourselves on a little weekend team retreat in January.
Why, you ask?
During the weeks we find our minds very busy and focused on the operational things that we barely have time to think about the big picture of the project. Hence, we went out to Sintra mountains to find some inspiration. It was a hell of an energetic shot. We have gathered around a table and we have discussed personal and professional issues. We have created and analyzed different possible scenarios...
To finish up the year with a great boost for 2019, we have been awarded the prize ofUniversity volunteering by Santander University!
It was a great experience and honor to be recognized by our work. Sometimes we are caught up in the hurdles and little things that we forget to see the big picture of our project. So, it was energizing to see that outside people see our work as innovative and empowering, and that is very fulfilling for our team. Bring on 2019, we are ready!
This year has been a rollercoaster for Amal! We guess it is part of a young enterprise and we are proud of what we have been conquering step by step! We would like to share some of our achievements for 2018, so here are some key moments:
For 2019 we foresee a lot of good news! We will be launching officially our long-awaited soap and we promise that it will come with a lot more than the soap itself. Amal will be reborn. And when that day comes, we will have a huge celebration and we want you...

The idea resembles much on the concept of “informal educa...
After some vacations over the month of August, we are now back to work with our energy fully recovered :).
In the beginning of the month, we had a team retreat at Casa do Cercal to re-think about what has been happening in the project and to define our next steps. It was a very cool and refreshing experience!
Nonetheless, September was not meant only to think about the future. We went to ECO Cascais, an ecological market that took place in Jardim Marechal Carmona on the 15th an...
Back in the days, during the last days of August we had the opportunity to challenge the executive students of the Rotterdam School of Management to help us out in some of our difficulties. It was an opportunity to use the experience and knowledge of people from several countries and backgrounds to solve some of our main issues.
During this event, we also had the opportunity to gather with other portuguese social entrepreneurs, which gave us a boost of energy! It is always inspiring to share the...
